Mermaid Pendant Necklace
How to make a dreamy heart shaped mermaid pendant…

Begin by tracing around the brass heart pendant, on the velvet piece of fabric, then cut slightly smaller than your tracing, so that velvet fits on the inside if brass heart.

Next, spread the tacky glue all the way to the edges of inside the brass heart with a paint sponge to insure even coverage. Then place your felt fabric over the glue and let dry.

Next, begin measuring your rhinestone chain for the perimeter of the heart. You’ll need to cut two strips of chain to ensure the tightest fit. The begin glueing down your chain onto the velvet. I found E-6000 to be the best glue for set the rhinestone chain to the velvet. It helps to use the head of a pin or a toothpick to spread on the chain.

Then glue down your mermaid, using the same method as with the chain, the toothpick and E-6000 glue, making sure you spread your glue all the way to the edge of the mermaid and press firmly to the velvet.

 The final step is to attach your beaded chain, using a pair of pliers and a jump ring, to the heart pendant. You can customize your chain to be any length you choose for a long or short necklace.
You are now ready to show off this necklace or give to someone special. I hope you enjoyed this fun project.
