I used cement to make jewelry! What that’s crazy Debi? Cement in jewelry ?! …….. let’s just start by saying that cement bag was so heavy!
The Necklace’s are not heavy though they look like they could be but they are nice and floaty feeling. I sealed them with Clear patina as it’s a heavy duty top coat. This is sort of like cooking but with cement….. so exciting. I found the molds in the baking aisle at the craft shop!Make sure to use vasoline in the molds it will make it a lot easier to get the cement molds out.
Make sure you do this in a open environment……….. Mix well and wear a mask like I did ( didn’t) in the video…
What a great opportunity to use our new Golden Ticket metallic patina, it’s shipping out now and will be available at a shop near you, click here to see the map of DIY Paint Retailers!
This is Emma my niece she posed for me with one of the necklaces! M for eMMa !
P.S. I’m pretty much sticking to the vegan diet ……….. I know, I know Turkey sandwiches, Quesadillas those carmel things at starbucks etc.. aren’t necessarily Vegan I was hungry and their are quite a lot of vegetarians at Vidcon so I went a bit off track………
I have a new video schedule, DIY videos every Thursday and surprise videos from my DIY pals on Takeover Tuesday! If you haven’t already please subscribe to my youtube channel so you don’t miss a video 🙂
Sincerely,
Debi
Debi,
First off, the pretty mirror you decorated actually cost much more than 15.00. You said you got a plaster mold that worked good on the roses, think that was 5.00. But one paint or item was 40.00+ and another was like 15.- I believe. All together, a project that became way too expensive. I don’t have any paint. I don’t need any because I don’t have anything to paint. And the powder you put on it to give it that aged look was cool but its all adding up.
As for your cement, get a cheap styrofoam cooler from any store. The kind to carry drinks in. Shouldn’t be over 7.00. Mix your cement into the cooler. When set. Peal or pull off styrofoam to reveal a cement PLANTER for your yard or doorstep or where ever. Just set where you will display and add dirt and plants or turn it into a cactus planter. Remember this WILL be heavy-so don’t try lifting once you have it set where you will display it. But consider Cactus with your sand and pretty small rocks. Don’t buy large but consider a mix of sizes. Either way the cement planter is really pretty once you decide once its all filled up. Hope you find something!! 🙂
