Hi my name is Sandra. I started painting furniture when my boyfriend and I moved into our first home together. There were so many more expenses than we had imagined. We bought a few new furniture pieces and spent all of our budget on only furnishing our living room. So the rest of the house was bare. I love to decorate and entertain so having a bare home for me was not an option since I love to host parties and dinners. Our solution was to shop at thrift stores and to find old furniture to paint. When our home became fully furnished I couldn’t stop buying furniture and painting them. I was obsessed! I started selling through my home by listing items on Craigslist, Etsy, and Offer up and then the opportunity lead to me to rent booths in other furniture stores and I think that’s when my dream of owning my own store really started. I have always been in high sale driven careers and I’ve worked for Bank of America, Verizon Wireless and Comcast. They were all great jobs but I always felt like I was missing something in my career. In February I was given a great opportunity to leave Comcast and start my own path and I didn’t hesitate to take it. I haven’t looked back and I’m so happy that my path lead me to open my own store at the Country Village Shops. I specialize in painted furniture and home décor and I do handmade candles and paper art too. Next week I will have chalk paint in my store and I will also be teaching paint classes next month also. This has been a dream come true for me and even though it’s only been a month since I’ve been open it has been one of the best months I’ve ever had!
